size of outlook express address book

Does anyone know the capacity of the Outlook Express
version 6 address book?

Can it hold hundreds of email addresses?

I volunteered to do the list-serv for my daughter's school
and there is a potential of several hundred people on the
list.

Is this a good way to do a list-serv? Any other
suggestions?
