slide format looks different in print preview

very strange! i have created a ppt but when i view it from print preview, it
looks different from normal screen. I went to view and click on slide master,
it shows exactly what i wan. But in the print preview window, i see
undesirable line and box and don't see them in the slide master. can anyone
tell me why? I am using office 2007.
