Slide Timing

T

I want some slides on a timer but not all of them. I can’t figure out how to
mark only some with auto timing and others when clicked.

Also I have sound on one side and I want to make the text appear line by
line synced with the sound.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Trent,
The only way to time individual slides is to set the automatic transition
time in the slide transition task pane. If you want to time several slides
with the same amount of time go to the slidesorter view and select them with
ctrl+click then apply a timing next to automatic.
As to the synchronization that's a totally different question, PPT is not
that good at synchronizing content. Have a look here for some info on the
subject:

As Luc says PPT is not good at sound sync. To reliably get what you want use
a sound editor (Audacity is free) to split the sounds into "bullet chunks"
and have each bullet appear "with previous" with the relevant sound chunk.

eg sound 1 after prev
bullet1 with prev
sound 2 after prev
bullet 2 with prev

BTW a very common mistake when applying partial auto transition is to press
"Apply to All" as there is no "Apply to these slides" to press
