slideshow problem/making slide numbers visible

I am putting together a slideshow and cannot figure out how to view the show
but have the number of the slide showing.

Go to View > Headers and Footers and check the box next to Page Number. Make
sure that your template includes the footer placeholders. Go to View > Master >
Slide Master and then to Format > Master layout.
