Slow opening with oulook when large .ost file

Outlook sometimes takes 30-60s to open when there is a
large ost file. when I configure the outlook without ost
file (no offline usage), I starts normally.

the ost file is about 400-500mb large, with abot 4000
files.

I cannot disable offline usage, as the most users have
laptops.
Is there a way to configure outlook so, then when people
are working in the office, outlook does'nt check the
offline ost folder?
or any other solution?
