slow Outlook

I just installed Office 2003 for Teachers/Students. Everything seems to work
fine except Outlook is extremely slow. Is there some setting having to do
with the way the program uses memory that I can adjust. I downloaded
Servicepak 1 from the Microsoft website...is there another dowload that might
help. None of my other programs (including non-Office products) suffer from
such slowness.
It's driving me bananas.

i've given up on microsoft's help. i'm taking my laptop in to be checked
out. the only thing i can think of is that i didn't have ad/spyware
protection when i installed Office and there's some malware that made it into
my machine that is slowing things down.
what a royal pain, eh?
let me know if you get to the bottom of this problem

Have you turned off Messenger integration in Outlook?
