Slow response in directories

Like others in the past, accessing directory information was very slow.
Please note that there are no unavailable mapped drives. I have re-installed
the network printer to have the drivers available locally which helped
considerably in browsing, however, the open and save functions are still very
slow.

Open My computer, go to Tools, View and in the Advance Settings Section,
uncheck - automatically search for Network folders and Printers..

This should help without breaking anything

My apologies. I guess I needed to restart my computer for the change to take
effect. This seems to have fixed the problem.

For people with this problem, it was resolved by disabling McAfee anti-virus.
