I have a G4 (350 MHz, 320 MB) and it has VERY slow response while in Ent.
Everything done brings up the color wheel for 20-30 seconds. It's storing
data in the users folder on a Xserve server.
The 1st sync may slow things down quite a bit especially over a slow
connection, and the first sync can take a long while if you have lots of
mail, contacts or events. After that things should speed up considerably.
If you have a lot of public folders exposed on the server that might be
slowing things down. You can turn off automatic checking for new mail in the
advanced receiving options popup in the mail tab of your exchange account in
Entourage by un-checking "check for unread messages in all folders".
Note: Exchange syncs are not visible in the status bar or progress window.
