<solved> Rejecting HTML emails in Outlook

Ever since O97, I have been trying to find a way to reject all HTML
emails that get sent to me. I specifically want to send a reply to the
offender that HTML emails are not standard and that they are
obnoxious.

Anyway, I've finally discovered it. Here's what to do in Outlook 2002
(10.4219)

Click on the Rules Wizard and Click on" New"
Click on the "Start from a blank rule" radio button.
Click "Next".
Scroll down the list of conditions and find, "with specific words in
the message header".
Cick the check box next to this.
Click on "specific words" in the rule description area in the bottm
messagebox.
Type "text/html" (without the quotes) in the window.
Click "Add"
Click "OK"
Click "Next"

Now, what you want to do with the message is up to you. I basically do
two things. First I sent a reply based on specific template I created
and saved to the filesystem which says, "Your email was HTML
formatted. This is indicative of Spam and has been rejected. Please
resend in plain-text format."

I also delete the email.

You can then click on Next, title the rule, Click on Next and then
Finish.

I have been using this for a few months and it has been working quite
well. A few of my collegues have switched to plain text emails and I
am not getting my inbox full of obnoxious ads and newsletters that
slip through our spam traps.

HTH!
