Some of my saved Word files appear in blue. Why?

I'm using Word 2002. SOme of the saved files have changed from black to
blue. I want to understand is the significance of this. I also want to know
wif it is possible to save updates to a document that will save to several
locations automatically eg to my hard disk and to a memory stick for one
click on SAVE. Forgetting to save twice can cause real headaches!
