Some troubles with the mouse

Hello there,

Didn't really know where to put my question, so excuse me for this post.

Since a few days I have experienced problems with my IntelliMouse Explorer
(infra red).
When I want to open a Word document I have to click at least 7 times to open
it (same goes for right mouse clicks)
But when I play a game (an installed game) the mouse works perfectly.

Updating the driver is of no use.

Anyone has an idea?

Hello Mary,

Thank you for your rapid respons.

I did check the control panel and couldn't find anything strange. Double
click speed is all set als normal/default.
I am running out of options. I did check my pc for virusses and spyware etc.
I am proud to say that I am working on a fast and virus free pc (at least for
the moment )

I hope you have another suggestion for me.

Does this happen all the time or only coming out of standby? Have you checked the
accessibilities settings in the control panel?
Do you have the service pack(s)?
How's your batteries? Can you plug in another mouse and see if you get the same
issue?

Hello Mary,

Happens all the time since a week. Batteries are good, checked
accessibilities settings too, working on XP sp2 for a long time now. Right
now I am working with a different (brand) mouse and no problems what so ever!

A real mistery. This is irritating huh? Imagine how I feel.
