Sort Entourage 2004 Address Book alphabetically?

How the heck do I set my Address Book in Entourage 2004 so that all
the entries are in alphabetical order by name (first or last)?

When I go to Toolbars/View - the choice "Arrange by" is greyed out.
It's driving me nuts.

Thanks :)

Click on the "Name" column and it will sort by last name (displayed
First Name-first). Click again to reverse the sort.

You'll find that many applications work this way, including the Finder.

No that doesn't do it Adam. What that does is sorts the names into
date order from which they were added to the address book.

Adam is correct. Click on the Address Book icon, then click on Address Book
in the Views column, then click on the Name heading. The little arrowhead
will tell you which way it is sorted (up means A-Z and down means Z-A).
Click on it again to sort in the opposite order.

I wish I could give you guys a screen shot of this.

I have followed both of your instructions and it just will not sort in
alphbetical order.

When the small arrow is up I have some address names starting with 'A'
then some with 'B' and then some more with 'A' after that and so on.
If I click it again it just goes the opposite way ie: some starting
with 'J' then some starting with 'G' then some starting with 'B' and
son on.

It simply does not work and like I said the option Arrange By in the
toolbar View menu is greyed out so I don't have that either.

Nice one MS.

The sort is based on the last name field in the Address Book. Have you
check your address book fields to make sure they are OK?
