Sorting after a Vlookup on a diff page

Hi, just joined the forum cause I've found the webpage to be quite
helpfull. Now I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer
for...

I'm trying to make a vacancy list for the 5 apartments complex's my
boss owns. What I did was make a page for each complex and asked the
managers to either put a "y" or a "n" next to each apartment number.

I then make a page to compile all the data in 5 different columns.

Ok, now the part I can't figure out...

On the main page (used by the owner) I tried doing a vlookup to find
the apartment that have the tag "empty" next to the on the "compile"
page. I got that to work, but It goes in order and leaves tons of
blank inbetween.

I tried to use a filter, but I can seem to get it to auto-update
itself. Any help on getting it to auto-update after someone changes
there pages status, and update the "main" page so that there are only
number there, and no blanks inbetween ?

Thanks a bunch.

from what i understand u want a list of all vacent units
to show on a main page

the best way to accomplish this would be to adapt these
array fromulas below to show what you want

http://www.cpearson.com/excel/download.htm

file to download is "oBlanks" (about half way down the
page)

ps

if you are still having problems or these formulas just
dont seem to work you can email me the file with an
explination of what you want and ill put it together for
you

Thanks for the link, I looked it over, and hopefully will be able t
figure it out eventually. I emailed you personally to ask a few follo
up's and gave you a bit more detail. If you still wish to look at th
file itself just reply back to the email I sent you and I'll send i
off.

Thanks again for replying. It's not to be unable to do something, so
hope to fix that soon :)
