Sorting by Custom Date

I'm in the AddressBook view, and I just noticed that Entourage doesn't sort
correctly by "custom date."

All dates were entered by clicking Entourage's calendar date selecter." So I
doubt it's a format issue.

Any help?

I think it's sorting alphabetically instead of by the actual date; that's
how the birthday field works too. I don't believe there's any way to work
around it. Sorry! The best workaround is to use a custom text field to store
your dates in a format like this: 2003-09-23.

Unbelievable Dave. You're exactly right!

What were the developers thinking? When they decided to provide a date field
that sorts alphabetically, they should have made Entourage's automatic
insertion features insert dates in a format, as you've shown, that will sort
alphabetically.

How often will I want to see everyone whose "custom date" starts with "Mon"
?

Do all Entourage date fields share this flaw???
