Sound problems

Hi there! I posted earlier and got great help concerning the picture slide
show I have created. It is all done and when I burn it to a cd my husband's
laptop does not play the music in the background. I have saved it as a slide
show and a presentation neither one has sound for him. He has all the same
programs I have on my reg. pc and it works here. I am just worried I am doing
something wrong and dont want to burn 15 copies with no sound. Please help!

Thanks!

What type of sound file is it, Kristie. You may need to include it on the CD
along with the presentation.

What John said about putting the file in the same folder with your
presentation is good advice, but you need to do that before you add the
sound to your presentation. Then you want to burn both the presentation and
the sound file to the CD. I wouldn't put them in a folder on the CD,
though -- I'd leave them "loose" there.

You may also want to read Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or
links break when I move or email a presentation
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00155.htm (Steve, the handy little
title/link is missing at the bottom of this page.)

http://www.echosvoice.com/gotchas.htm#SoundAdvice might also help.

Finally, do you know that all the CD recipients will have PPT on their
computers? They'll need either that or the PPT Viewer in order to run the
presentation.

Thank you for the replies. Please remember I just figured this powerpoint
out on my own about 2 months ago just to do this slide show. I was saving it
as a slide show before I copied it to a cd not a pp presentation so it would
just start right up for people. So if I am understanding correctly I just
have to save the songs seperatly to the cd as well? They are mp3 files. I
read the first link given about breaking the links and I understand now about
that. It seems you have to buy a special program to make the links not break.
Again I am VERY ametur at this so I get confused easily lol.

Also the sound files and the presentation are both saved to my documents
before I copy them to a cd.

Ok I downloaded
cdex to convert the mp3 files to have wave headers. I put them all in the
same folder with the presentation and reloaded them into the pp. It messed up
a little as the songs have more of a delay when they start so I had to retime
some things. Now that I have converted the mp3's can I just save the pp as a
pp show and copy that to cd or do I still have to also copy the music files
onto the cd? I have to wait until my husband gets home to test this. I really
really really appreciate everyones time, help and patience with me.
