Sounds linked from long paths

I seem to be having difficulty in PP2003 with linking to sounds with long
paths. Is this a known issue?

Yes, Rockmetteller. Links with path longer than 128 characters will not work.
Few ways you can workaround with.

If the music is in wav format, embed the music into the presentation. If you
are using other format, try to convert the music into wav format using sound
converter. By doing so, the music will be embedded into the presentation
(preventing the link from breaking) and you do not have to email the music.

For embedding, read here (Quick Fix for WAV Sounds):
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00155.htm

Alternately, create a new folder and move the ppt and music into the folder.
Now, open the ppt file, delete and reinsert the music to create a pathless
link.
Then, save your presentation.
Email both the presentation and music.

Thanks, tohlz. I read something about 128-character limits; thanks for
confirming.
