Source for dashboard graphics

My boss has become fascinated with some graphics he's seen on other sites
(animated thermometers and dials/speedometer type thingies etc for data
visuals, reporting, etc).

Anyone know of any good 3rd party packages for these as FP Add-ins or
anything like that? Has anyone used any that work well & look good?

They are either animated gif images or have been created with Flash

I appreciate that, but I really was more hoping for a place to find some of
these I could stick into our site and just "feed the data to" rather than
having to build them myself..

I have no idea where to find a speedometer that would tell me what our sales
to date were with the colored background marking off percent of goal for the
year...

Any ideas where I can find the "template" for these things. I have found
graphics sites that offer J-Bots and software packages with animated
indicators like these, but I haven't found anything that shows me these
particular gifs as part of the "kit"..

Hello BAC,

What you are referring to is called 'instrumentation' and yes, this type of
user interface has also been referred to as a 'dashboard' which generally
applies to a collection of instruments.

Quite frankly, and briefly, unless your boss is prepared to spend some money
his or her goal is not going to be achieved as intrumenting a web
application is not plug-and-play. Instrumentation is quite sophisticated and
requires integration with a backend database. I've provided a couple of
resources to get you started with further evaluation.
