SP1 Update Stalls in Installer

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

When I use the autoupdater to install SP1 the installer hangs in the stage

Preparing Office 2008 SP1 Update (12.1.0)
Progress bar
Running AutoUpdate installer script.

Anyone know what the problem is here?

Launch the updater

Drag the installer to your desktop.

Eject the virtual disk.

Run the updater from the installer on your desktop.

You might also download again to be sure your file is complete.
