SP2: Add delegate issue

C

Cole Robison

This appears to be a great update overall -- very much appreciated! One
issue, though:

When I go to add a delegate, I get a dialog box that says:

Entourage cannot use a secure connection to set delegate options. While
setting delegation options, Entourage is temporarily unable to use a secure
connection with your Exchange server. This will not affect any existing
security settings.

Upon trying to continue, I'll get an error:

Entourage cannot connect to the Exchange server. Verify that your Exchange
account settings are correct. (Error: 277)

I'm using Entourage 2004 SP2 (of course) with Mac OS X 10.4.2, in an
Exchange Server 2003 environment that, as I understand it, is configured to
not accept any non-SSL/port 80 connections.

Can anyone shed any light on what is happening or how I might get this
feature working?

Thanks.

Is your Entourage Exchange account configured to connect to a frontend or
backend Exchange server?

Andy,

I am getting the same error message as well. We are using a front end/back
end server setup. I've tried using the Advance button to enter the back end
server name with no change. The error message itself seems a bit vague to
me. Is Entourage temporarily turning off SSL to make the connection and
then turning it back on? With the ability now to share folders and set
permissions this is not what most people at our site will be using -
delegating "on the behalf" permissions. Still we need to address this
problem for that smaller set of users that what to delegate "on the behalf
of" permissions (e.g. true full delegation).
