Our Systems people have taken the stance that they need to apply and test
the SP2 update for Exchange in a test environment before applying it in
production. We still at this time have not applied the update because of
higher priorities.
Are there any reports of problems happening to the Exchange server when this
update has been applied? From Microsoft's discussion it would seem that
this update impacts ONLY applications using WebDAV. I know Entourage needs
the Exchange update in order to do calendar sharing properly but does any
other software need it for proper operation? OWA used WebDAV but I believe
but does not seem to need the update? Is that a true statement? Are there
mobile/PDA software that will not work as well?
From my point of view this update is a zero impact update on the "rest" of
the Exchange server environment and could be applied with little or no
testing.
