Space Bar

According to the Help section on Keyboard Shortcuts,

SPACEBAR Scroll down to the next screen of text or, if you are at the
end of a message, display the next unread message.

That's the way it worked in Outlook Express, also. In Entourage X
10.1.4, in my setup, this doesn't work. The space bar will cause the
text to scroll down one screen only, then no more. This is true
whether the preference for Use Microsoft Office Shortcuts is checked
or not.

Too bad, because the space bar is a great scrolling convenience for
reading a large number of messages. It also doesn't require clicking
on the message first for each message, as do the page up and page down
commands.

Is there some other preference I have missed? Is this a bug? Is there
a workaround?

Works for me.

Well, I just upgraded my G4 AGP 400 Sawtooth with a new processor, taking
the speed to 1.4 GHz. I changed nothing else. Nothing. Popped out the old
card, put in the new one, and fired it up.

Guess what? Now the one-touch space bar feature works perfectly.

Go figure.
