I'm getting an error message when i try to do a typical rebuild that
says there isn't enough space to complete the process and create a new
identity. what do i need to do to make it work?

Your start-up disk needs to have as much as twice the size of the database
available for the rebuild to occur.

I think I have heard somewhere that the degree of fragmentation can affect
what entourage views as 'free', but I'm not 100% sure of this.

Note: if you keep the database on a different disk/partition, you still need
the free space on the start-up disk - this appears to be a bug in entourage
- it doesn't always know what disk to check.
