Space inserted in eMail addresses

Periodically, I will reply to an eMail and one of the addresses will bounce.
It has taken me sometime to work out why. It appears that for some as yet
unknown reason, the addresses of incoming email will attract an unwanted
space.

For example: [email protected] might become jane.doe@microsoft. com

Entourage will interpret this address as jane.doe@microsoft and bounce it.

Has anyone else noticed this problem?

Most of my mail is retrieved via web access to an exchange server. I¹m not
sure if it is restricted to these eMails or applies to all email sources
that I tap.

It appears that for some as yet unknown reason, the addresses of incoming

I had a similar problem with addresses that I had in groups for email. I
went through a dozen different solutions before discovering that about half
a dozen addresses had a space in front of the first letter. I have no idea
how this happened but now I am constantly on the hunt for any other rogue
spaces.
