Specify Location of Folders

I am very new to MS Entourage 2004 on the MAC but am quite familiar
with the Windows version.

How do you specify a specific Directory on your system to store the
Mail Folders? And where is the default folder location?
Thanks for our Help.

By default, Entourage data is stored in an identity folder within the
Microsoft User Data folder. That folder is located in
~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 Identities/<Identity>

(where ~ means the current user's home folder, usually located in
/Users/<Current User>/).

You can't change where Entourage will look for data, but you can move the
identity folder to another location and create an alias (drag with the
Command and Option keys depressed) in the original location. Then Entourage
should be able to read data located somewhere else.

Mickey,

Thank you for your response, The identity folder i have is
~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 Identities/Main Identity

is this correct

And are you advising to replace this with an Alias to itself, and move
the original to the new
location I want to use ?

My understanding of Alia's is that they act as Shortcuts to the
origianl and contain no actual data

I hope I have understood your advise correctly

Thanks
