Everytime I click into a newsgroup, it takes a long time to load. Is there
any way I can speed it up? Thx.

Sure, check for news messages on a schedule so they are already downloaded
when you want to view them. I do that, plus I have a rule that automatically
downloads the full body of all news messages.
