Spell Check in a language

OK Step by step...
How can I do a spell check and grammar check in Word 2000, Installed
from office 2000 professional?

Can it be done?

we have some Spanish Documents that we want to check and maybe correct
but we cant get it to work correctly.

we have selected the spanish dictionary but as soon as we click on
ignore it reverts back to the english dictionary.

I really don't want to set up a machine specifically for spanish and
don't need a spanish keyboard (if there is one)

Any help
