Well it is possible that in the rpefs you selected a default languiage
that doesn't have a spell checker in Office.
What language did you select there??

Be sure the Custom Dictionary is at the top of the list of dictionaries.
Entourage can only access the top dictionary in the list.
Go to MS Word/Preferences/Spelling & Grammar/Custom Dictionary, and browse
again to your Custom Dictionary. You're best leaving language as (none).
Restart your computer.
Now, try Entourage again.

Check display font. CE fonts (Monaco CE, Geneva CE, Helvetica CE, Courier
CE) can cause the problem. Change to a different font.

Is there a way to have grammar checked in Entourage 2004 (Emails?)

No, but I believe this is possible in Entourage 2008.

An alternative is to compose your message in Word and run a spelling &
grammar check there before copying it into an Entourage message. Or, you
could send it directly from Word using File > Send To > Mail Recipient (as
HTML), but only do this if you need to send the message in HTML rich text
format.
