Standard file format that can be used to import to MS Projects 200

I heard there is a standard file format that can be used to export info to
Projects. Where can I find this standard file format for Projects 2007? We
are looking into interfacing from Microsoft Dynamix AX to MS Projects.

Project will allow import of data in various formats including spreadsheets,
XML, Microsoft Access, and CSV. When you select these file types,
Project2007 automatically launches a mapping wizard so you can properly tie
columns (in a spreadsheet for example) from your source data and Microsoft
Project2007.

The map can be saved for future imports from the same data source (such as
next month's data).

For export of data, MS Project2007 allows you to export to XML, XLS, CSV,
and Tab Delimited Files. Again, a data mapping wizard will assist you to
define the output format.

The format you desire will depend on the source and end use applications.
You may find more information on the Dyanamics home page:
http://www.microsoft.com/dynamics/crm/default.mspx
Generally, each Microsoft product will have some defaults for import/export.
You will need to experiment with your specific instance to see which formats
work best for you. For example, Dynamics will have an output format similar
to what I discussed above; it becomes a matter of proper mapping.

If this helps, please consider rating this response.
