Start counting from sixth page

Petar Popara

I need for homework to force Word to start counting pages (in footer) from
sixth page (on sixth page should be 1, on seventh page 2...).

How can I do that?

Thank you in advance. :)

Petar,
Put your cursor top of page 6, insert a section break next page. With your
cursor in section 2, view - header and footer - check if you are in section
2, left hand side of the header should indicate header (section 2). Click on
same as previous button to disconnect from the first section, apply
numbering using the numbering button, click on the page formatting button,
choose begin with 1.

Use the following field construction

{ IF { PAGE } > 5 { = { PAGE } - 1 } }

Use Ctrl+F9 to insert each pair of field delimiters and Alt+F9 to toggle of
their display.

Or simply:
{={PAGE}-5 \# 0;;}

Cheers
PS: If you need to refer to the page numbers in a TOC, PAGEREF field, etc,
then Luc's suggestion is the way to go.
