Starting Up Problem with VBA

I am getting an error message on starting Word 2000 that it can't load the
VBA and then I can't access normal.dot. I am getting a similar message in
Access 2000 that apparently is telling me that I checked off the wrong
version of VBA, but it won't let me unload the wrong version because it is
in use.

I have tried everything short of reformating the hard drive (including
deleting and reinstalling Office) to no avail.

Help!

Run a de/re-install of MS Office and follow the pointers as specified in

Or
De-install MS Office.
Run a registry cleaning program. There's a multitude available on the web.
Re-install MS Office.
