static ip addresses and entourage.

I have a OS10.3 w/ entourage 2004. I was able to connect with no
problem using dhcp. For some reason, we needed to get static ip
addresses. Once we received this, I can no longer connect to the
exchange server. I don't even get any error messages. When I open
entourage, it just opens and does not attempt to connect. I was
checking the account settings, but everything there seems fine.
Any ideas? Outlook 2001 works just fine, even with the static ip
address, so i can connect via the network.

I suspect this may be a problem with name resolution. You can
double-check this by entering the IP address of your Exchange server in
your Entourage account settings and seeing if you can connect this way.

If this works, you may need to enter the full name of your Exchange
server in the form of servername.company.com. Or you may need to enter
"company.com" into the Search Domains field in your Mac's TCP/IP System
Preferences.

Hope this helps! bill
