Stop capitilizing first word of second line

Why do I have to turn off the auto-correct option to stop capilizing the
first word of the second line in Outlook (part of Office 2003 Standard)?

Are you using Word as your editor or are you using Outlook's built-in
editor? If you're using Outlook's built-in one you can find some settings
here: Tools menu > Options > Spelling tab > AutoCorrect options

If you use Word Wrap and not a carriage return at the end of the sentence,
does the behavior stop?

After furious head-scratching, Vic Goff asked this group:

You are correct. Whenever I use carriage return instead of word wrap, it
will capitalize the first word of the second line. Thanks for helping me
figure it out.

I was using the WORD editor and not Outlook editor. However, using carriage
return and not allowing it to wrap around automatically caused the
capitilization of the first word on the second line.
