Stop helping so much! Design changes don't hold.

I'm a professional designer who is very frustrated that I can't customize my
work. If I paste a carefully crafted table into a blank page with the Title
Only layout, that chart will revert to Microsoft's idea of correct
positioning and size. That means I have to make the same changes over and
over again. And if I change the colors in a chart so that my client does not
have the option to place a column in shrieking orange against my desaturated
purple, the changes I made revert to Microsoft standard (except the ones that
follow the limited document color scheme) when I reopen. Not everybody is
design-challenged! Please don't override so much!

Go to Tools|Autocorrect and turn off the autofit options to alleviate the
issues with repositioning.

For the graphs, well, that's a bit tougher. You might get some ideas from
