Stop Outlook 2002 From Deleting Files

For some reason my Outlook 2002 SP3 is constantly deleting files. This
started some time ago after one or more of the Microsoft updates to
the program. I have tried every combination of settings in the
archive options, but it still deletes the files. Would be OK if they
ended up in the archive folders, but they just disappear. Many of
these are important files, and it's really getting to be a problem.

An example of this is my sent folder. Right now, there is nothing in
there older than August 8,2007. There should be hundreds of files in
the folder. The archive save folder has nothing newer than October
2006. What's going on?

Turn off archiving for a while and see if the problem stops. Also check for
additional archive files. Remember that archiving works on the modified date
of items.,

Thanks. I set all folders to Do Not Archive. I did a search for .pst
files, but there is only one archive.pst file, and it is the current
one (from today.)
