Stop "Preparing to install" (Office 2000)dialog box from appeari.

Office 2000 installed on a Windows XP laptop keeps asking to install an
unneeded component when online in Outlook Web Access and replying to emails.
How do I stop this permanently, short of upgrading the suiteto XP or 2003?
