Stopping a Search for Mail Upon Opening Entourage

Is there any way, short of doing a Force Quit, to stop Entourage from
searching for mail upon opening? The reason I ask is that of late
Entourage is always going to an out of date e-mail account through
msn.com and searching for mail. This is not my primary e-mail account
and I already designated my correct account to be the one it searches
on automatically. This event can take up to twenty minutes and gets
no response because I am not connected to msn. I tried hitting the
Escape key to stop it, right clicked on the account to force an
action, all to no avail. While visiting the local Apple store with
the experienced staff on another issue I brought this subject up and
they were unable to provide an answer. Does anyone else know how to
stop a search action so that one can check their real mail account?
My other alternative is to transfer all my old e-mails into a folder
in my current account and then totally delete my old account. Thanks,

Rick

It sounds like you still have a schedule that checks that email
account. My bet is it's your "Send & Receive All" schedule. Here's how
to fix it:

1. From the Entourage menu bar, select Tools > Schedules.
2. In the Schedules window, double-click "Send & Receive All".
3. In the Edit Schedule dialog box, locate the Action that says:
Receive Mail from [email protected]
4. Click anywhere on that action line to highlight that action.
5. Click Remove Action to remove the action.
6. Click OK to save your changes to the schedule.

Now Entourage won't check for email in that account anymore.
