Storing Entourage Data on Server Share?

Is it possible to store the Entourage data/Microsoft User Data on a server
share? I believe this used to be possible with Office X. All you had to do
was move the Microsoft User Data to the server share and make an alias to it
in your Documents folder. This doesn't seem to work anymore, as when I try
it, Entourage just perpetually quits.

The reason for wanting to do this is for backup purposes. We don't have to
have to run back up on all our Macs just for the Entourage data. If we have
all the files in one place, backups are easier.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

The fact that Entourage 2004 identities cannot be stored and accessed
properly when located on network volumes is a known issue. At the moment
there is no workaround apart from copying the identity to a local drive and
accessing it from there.

Your feedback on this issue should be recorded. Alternatively, you can send
feedback using the web form. In Entourage X or 2004, go to Help > Send
Feedback on Entourage. Otherwise, click on this direct link to enter Mac
