After rebuilding my system and reinstalling Office 2003 professional, when I
try to edit my presentation that have many graphic (drawing objects) and they
just keep of re-painting over and over and takes 30 seconds to a minute
before complete slide is displayed. This does not happen when I run slides
show. What could be he cause.... I have 1GB RAM, Latest Compaq Laptop --
Windows XP Home edition (SP1). The only thing that changed is that when I
sent laptop back to Compaq to fix, they rebuilt the system and replaced
motherboard!
Any help will be appreciated.

Naeem,

I've seen this happen before.

Updating the "graphics card" drivers solved the problem for me.

Ive seen it happen too...usually on slides that have lots of transparent or
partly transparent objects (PNGs or semi transparent PowerPoint objects).
It seems to be one of the many issues that are affected by different
graphics cards and/or their drivers.
