Strange email address

I imported all my email addresses from Outlook Express into Entourage
2004. I now discover that when I type "bc" in the "To" field, it
brings up three names, one of which I never heard of and cannot see in
the address book itself.

Have I just not looked hard enough in the address book, or could there
be "invisible" addresses?

Thanks. That works fine, but it still does not tell me how to find the
address in my address book or how it got there. I am just curious why
I cannot find the address in the address book.

Because that address is *not* in your address book. The Address Book is a
whole different animal than the most recently used list. This list is
comprised of both incoming and outgoing email addresses. Since it is not
part of your address book, the way to get rid of it is to add it to your
address book (moving it from the most recently used list to the Address
Book), and then delete it from the Address book.

It got there either through a piece of received email (possibly spam), or
because you mistyped an address at some point and hit 'tab' or 'enter'
before correcting the error. Addresses you send to or receive from are
internally tracked in the 'Most Recently Used' List. You cannot browse or
directly edit this list, but in EvX or E2004 there is a setting in the prefs
to turn it on/off, or to clear it.

In E2004, the new 'junk mail button' when pressed for a piece of junk mail
will remove that address from the 'MRU'.
