strange event owner switchup problem

Hi,

We've recently migrated from Entourage 04 to Entourage 08. I'm noticing that some events scheduled in E04 have switched the event organizer to whoever the owner of the calendar is. So, say that a meeting was organized by Joe and invited Ernie using E04. Now after switching to E08 when you look at that event in Ernie's calendar, the event is no longer owned by Joe, it's owned by Ernie. This is starting to create some strange side effects as you might guess.

Has anyone else seen this? Is there a way to fix the event to the proper owner?

I have seen this happening even with E04. I have the Entourage / iCal syncing turned on and I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. But somehow I now become the owner of alot of meetings I was invited to and I should not be the owner. This is a HUGE problem for me. :angry:

My team is investigating this issue and we couldn't reproduce this in-house.
If anyone sees this issue, please contact me via email. My email address is

The information that we are interested in is:
- Did you turn on Sync Service (under Preference)?
- For those events that changed owner's name, are they recurring events?
Were these events sent to a DL? Or were they forwarded to the receivers? Did
the receivers RSVP to the events?
- What version of the Exchange server it is? Exchange 2003 or 2007?
