Strange (incorrect) chronology in Item List view

Has anyone noticed that some emails are categorized in the item list
incorrectly? For example, I have an email that I sent this evening at
22:07. It contained several JPG attachments.

I went looking for it a few minutes later and had to actually do a search by
"To" to find it: Entourage had placed it in the "Older" section. It's 17
minutes old for crying out loud! :)

I don't understand this -- and it's happened MANY times before. My Sent
Items list is Arranged by "Sent" and "Newest on top." And I've noticed that
it's not an issue with the Inbox -- but it occurs elsewhere, particularly
(as mentioned) in the Sent Items.

What gives? Is this a documented bug? If so, it's an inconsistent one, for
sure.

Thanks.

Hi Craig,
how exactly did you write this e-mail? What I have noticed is that if you
compose a message and then hit "send later" (which places the message in the
Outbox), it will keep the date of the moment when you put it in there. Even
if you click "Send & Receive" a day later, your particular message will keep
the original date. If that's not the problem, I would recommend re-building
the database, as this might be the symptom of a corruption.

Is it possible that the chronology is off by the same amount of hours that
it differs based on the time zone it was sent?

You may have a list sorting problem which a simple "Compact" (called
"Typical Rebuild" back in Entourage X) will fix. Hold down Option key when
launching Entourage and choose Compact. If that doesn't help. repeat but
choose Rebuild.
