Strange Read Receipt Behaviour?

Hi,

We're running Outlook 2003 Sp1. One of our users has their client set to
request delivery receipt on all their emails. However since enabling this
option, recipients of their emails are being asked for read receipts, even
though this option isn't being selected on the client. It isn't happening
all the time either, from what we can gather, it's intermittent.

Can anyone suggest a reason behind this odd behaviour?
