Strange scrambling of "from" and "reply to"addresses in received mail

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

Some incoming messages say from "[email protected]" -- but the "sent by" is someone else entirely, having nothing to do with john's address.

What's causing this? What can I do to prevent it?

I believe you're seeing this:

"This bug is really a new feature in SP1"

You can only correct your Address Book. This cannot be disabled.
