Strange sound problem

F

Freddanson

I have a PP with a mp3-sound file which has been working just fine until
recently. Suddenly there is no sound and I can't figure it out. I have the
same PP on a CD and when running it from the CD, it's working fine. But when
I copy it to a folder on my computer, it doesn't work anymore.

Does anyone know?

Do you copy the sound file to the folder on your HD? You might want to look
here: Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or
email a presentation http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00155.htm

If the path to the linked MP3 is too long, PowerPoint won't be able to find it.
Try moving everything to C:\Test and try it. Does that correct the problem? If
so, the path was too long. This often happens when people keep their files deep
in the My Documents structure.

And....?

That's not what I was addressing, so if what you did didn't work please re-read
what I wrote below.

Well, I answered Michaels reply.....

The linked path wasn't to long. The files were probably to deep in the
structure. I moved them and now it works fine.

Thanks for the help!

Same thing. The path is the fully qualified address from the root directory of
the drive down to the file name. So, if it was "deep in the structure", the
full path was probably too long.
