Strange speed issue

A

Andy

I have a small windows server 2000 based network with 6 clients (XP and 2000
PCs w/ MS office 2000). A couple of weeks ago we had a problem with
wide-spread winsock corruption. Once resolved, any local or network based
docs take 10 -30 seconds to open. The odd part is, if a PC is physically
disconnected from the network, a local doc will open nearly instantly. But if
reconnected, the same doc will take the usual 10 - 30 seconds to open. I've
already rebuilt DHCP on the server just in case, but the problem persists. No
other hardware or software changes have occured. Any suggestions?
