Strategy for sharing with PC

For many reasons I use a ThinkPad on the road, and it of course gives me
problems in keeping track of email.

I have Eudora on both the T40 and my G5, but they don¹t synch up very well
either. I can do it manually and don¹t want help with that.

I do wonder, though, what to do with Entourage emails. Is there a standard
smart way to import mailbox contents (or entire mailboxes if necessary) from
Outlook to Entourage and back?

Or bright ideas of any kind?

Thanks!

Best,

- Bill

A much easier approach would be to use a server-side e-mail account such as
IMAP. Then you won't need to manually transfer mail back and forth.

You are suggesting I no longer use my POP accounts?

The only IMAP I'm familiar with is Yahoo or Hotmail. I do use them on the
road sometimes, but it seems like an inelegant solution.

Does Outlook talk to Entourage or vice-versa? And if so, is it useful for
keeping consistent email archives on a PC and a Mac.

I may not be understanding your answer.

Yes

..Mac is another, and others I know recommend http://www.mailcan.com/
but it seems like an inelegant solution.

I don't see how. It's a lot more elegant than POP when using multiple
computers, especially when it comes to accessing Sent Mail and keeping read
flags in sync.

No, not directly.

Unless I'm missing something, isn't the storage capacity rather limited on
IMAP servers? If not, I guess it is something to look into.

Any downside to maintaining our own domain for mail? I know Yahoo will let
me appear to me sending mail from my pop account, so probably that's
handled...

Thinking out loud ...

Any disadvantage whatever that you can think of to using IMAP vs. POP?

Thanks, Dave.
