Student database and student Register

Jar

Hi there,

I want to build a student database, with an online register so that i can
link them together and for tutors to be able to access them for inputing
student's attendance on line, etc. Can anyone help and tell me how to do
these using (myql and apatche) XAMPP Contrl?

Thanks
Jar.

Wouldn't this be better off in a WAMP or LAMP newsgroup?

The db design questions are pretty much the same regardless of the db
engine you use, but you haven't actually asked any questions.

Tim, What i meant to say was to guide me as this is new to me. I have never
done it before and don't know how to do the registers at all.

Tim, What i meant to say was to guide me as this is new to me. I
have never done it before and don't know how to do the registers at
all.

There is any number of tutorials, books, and evening classes on starting
database design -- the theory is pretty much the same regardless of what
database platform (Access, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc) you choose.
I'm afraid that newsgroups are not the best way to get such general
information.

I would direct you to your nearest higher or further ed establishment --
it's much easier to get the conceptual stuff from another person than
reading on your own. A good book or two on data structures and Database
design or Relational theory is also required.

If you have specific questions to answer, then do ask here -- browse the
other postings here for the sort of thing that get answered successfully.

I wish you all the best -- db design is fascinating and fun and
stimulating, and exercises the creative and communication and linguistic
faculties as well as the logical and mathematical. There is, however, a
significant learning curve to come first.

Best wishes
