Style Definition in Publisher XP

Have you read Brian's article about default text boxes? It maybe what you are looking
for. The answer that was in the URL you posted was quite comprehensive.
Set defaults for new text boxes in all Publisher publications
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011196811033.aspx

Unfortunately, this problem has nothing to do with the function
provided by default text boxes. The answer you're refering to does a
good job at describing the problem, but doesn't provide any solution
(except not to use styles).

I'm just quite surprised that Microsoft has left such a massive bug
unresolved. Searching the knowledge base, I see that they don't even
document it.

I have seen this pop up before in and out. It's been impossible for us to
reproduce. The link you pointed out says that they had IMPORTED their text
from a file. Is that also what you are doing?

Does this happen with EVERY font? In the link you posted, they mention the
style is holding with certain point fonts, but not others. I wonder, maybe
is the font corrupt? Does this happen when starting a new publication, not
importing text but actually new text?

It's not in the KB because this is very rare and there hasn't been an
internal reproduction in order for them to create a KB. The only way to find
the bug is step by step troubleshooting like we are doing with you.

If we can't solve your issue, you can indeed open a ticket with Microsoft
for support, but I think it might be a one time $35 fee until your issue is
resolved.
