sub task occurring outside summary task dates!

Has anyone ever seen a schedule where the sub task bar on the Gantt
chart extends out and starts before it's summary tasks? I am told the
file was created in Excel, then transferred in. Can send a gif, it you
like. Or maybe I took one to many acid trips back in the sixties....

Hi,

It could be the schedule has not been re-calculated or the task not indented
or the schedule has been sorted?

Thanks for your reply, Gill. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back
to you. Been busy getting this client's system back in order. This
symptom was one of many in a very unstable system. Too many scheduling
conflicts in over 70 projects linked to a common resource pool. Have
seen a few I've never seen before, like a mysterious cursor appearing
at the left of a group of highlighted cells and sliding across,
through the cell borders, erasing the fields as it passed! And no, I
wasn't touching the keyboard at the time, and wouldn't know how to do
that if I was at the keyboard! Anyway, both these symptoms, and a host
of others, went away as I have instituted a series of procedures here
to avoid scheduling conflicts. Now the files are acting like normal
mpp files! What a relief!
