Sub Web Access

We are using MS Project Server 2002 with SharePoint for sub webs. When
running Status Reports we get the Microsoft Logon dialog box. If you enter a
valid username and password nothing happens. If you select Cancel, Issues
and Documents do not get pulled from the sub-web. We have deleted some users
from the Browser Group in the sub-webs as they were locked out due to the
1024 user limit. If I re-synch the sub-web, sometimes it corrects the
problem but not always. Any ideas?
